i’m gonna be a bit more absent in the next months. I got a promotion at work and it will take a lot more of my free time. But i’m still gonna sketch ..not just that often.
It starts after Helios falls, and Rhys takes ownership of Atlas. He has a rough time as he makes his first attempts to turn it back into a functioning company, and one of the things he struggles with most is that he’s alone now. Not even from the work side of things he’s just really not used to being completely alone???
So, naturally, he makes bad choices and attempts to recode the Handsome Jack AI, erases some of its attempted murder related memories, and brings Jack back online in the Atlas systems.
Rhys later finds info on the Jack clone Nakayama had supposedly been working on, that Jack had mentioned when they were on Helios, in part of the Hyperion systems he took from the wreckage of the space station. Turns out it wasn’t failed so much as it was in its extremely early prototype stages, but there was something so Rhys and Jack seek it out! Long story short the Jack AI is put into a Handsome Jack clone prototype they find. Rhys obviously didn’t really think it through so now he has Handsome Jack as a glorified house pet cause he can’t let Jack run free around Pandora to kill or be killed by the locals.
The “Behavioral Modification Tool”, which is what he affectionately refers to the shock collar he makes Jack wear as, is to make sure they don’t have another attempted murder related incident. Rhys can control it w his cybernetics, and he claims it’s “rigged to explode if his heart stops”, but he lies to Jack so much that that may not be true.
